Isabel Marant FW 2011. Love this look, so typically Isabel Marant. Image from style.com |
Coinciding with the day of her FW 2012 runway show in Paris as well as the
announcement of an LA store opening (finally!), I stopped by the Cooper Building this afternoon to check out the
Isabel Marant / Jerome Dreyfuss sample sale. I love
Isabel Marant; her clothes are so
easy to wear and perfect for a
casual LA lifestyle. I've worn everything that I bought last year a few times, and in particular I wear the
Etoile Lexy jacket (only non sample sale purchase bought at full price unfortunately, but totally worth it) and
Etoile gray cords a lot. The discounts weren't quite as good as
last season's sample sale (although still significantly lower than anywhere else I've seen), but I still found 3 pieces that I really loved: from the mainline- the Leo leather trimmed patchwork cord trousers from the runway pic above and the longsleeve / tunic dress version of the feather print shirt also in the runway pic above, and from the Etoile line - the Zakina longsleeve tunic / dress. I'm looking forward to wearing the comfortable tunic / dresses a lot over the next few months which will continue to fit even though I'm 6 months pregnant, and can't wait to wear the trousers next fall! I'm really excited about the patchwork trousers; patchwork is one of her signature looks and was all over the
SS 2012 runway collection currently in stores. I also fell in love with a Jerome Dreyfuss Twee zebra print calf hair bag but alas had to leave it behind. Meanwhile, between today and the recent
Mary Katrantzou purchases, I will be on a shopping ban for the foreseeable future...
