Ramenya and Santouka: New Favorites

I usually go to Ramenya for the Ajo (garlic) ramen, but I might have found a new favorite, the Tan Men, which is just vegetables and pork ramen in a clear broth.  It's a lot lighter with a variety of textures from all the fresh vegetables and the light clear broth.  It's also quite a bit more filling with all the ingredients; we could barely finish our bowls.
On the other end of the spectrum from the fresh and light Tan Men at Ramenya is the spicy miso ramen at Santouka in the Mitsuwa Japanese market near Mar Vista.  It is so rich and delicious, with wonderful deep porky broth and springy noodles.  It's almost as good as the ramen at Ippudo in NYC, my favorite ramen place that I've been to. With some ikura over rice and soy hard boiled eggs, it is a darn good meal.  I love ramen in the wintertime!
