Paso Robles Wine Tasting: Denner Vineyards

We had a little extra time before our Jocko's reservation (or so we thought), so we made a quick stop in Paso Robles to do a quick wine tasting. I had never visited Paso Robles before but heard good things, so I was excited to check it out. The area of Paso Robles that we visited reminded me a little bit of northern Napa Valley, north of St. Helena, with twisty roads, hills and lush greenery. We passed by some huge and very expensive looking wineries and vineyards. Unfortunately many places that were recommended to us by A, including Ecluse, were closed since it was a Wednesday, so we randomly chose to try Denner, which had some favorable yelp reviews. The structures and facilities looked quite new, and were very impressive and expensive. The wines were ok, a little pricey and not extremely memorable. I liked the Viognier and bought a bottle of the rose (which was the most inexpensive wine they were pouring and so that they would waive the $10 tasting fee). It is very pretty up there with panoramic vineyard and hillside views.
