Malibu Seafood

It was a lovely mild August afternoon so Jeff and I drove to Malibu Seafood, just past Pepperdine University on PCH, to enjoy some seafood and wine outside on their patio overlooking PCH and the Malibu beach.
I go to Malibu Seafood for 2 things: enjoying a plate of fried oysters and a nice bottle of wine outdoors under the sun surrounded by beautiful ocean views.  It's a casual, no frills place with picnic table seating outdoors and corkage is free, which is always key!
I always get the fried oysters; they are the best fried oysters that I've ever had; a plump juicy oyster in a wonderfully crisp batter.  Paired up with some tangy tartare sauce and fries with ketchup, malt vinegar and hot sauce, washed down by a cold glass of wine, and it is a perfect way to spend a lazy, relaxing afternoon looking out at the waves.  We had a bottle of 2008 Lagrein rosato from Trentino, which was decent.  I was a little surprised that it was as fruity as it was, as I usually enjoy Lagreins for their earthy, minerally taste, but it was perfectly fine as everything usually is under the warm Malibu sun.
